Meditation Rocks!

We have been hearing about the benefits of meditation for years. Seems to me like we need it more now than ever.

But... do you ever feel frustrated because you just can't get your mind quiet enough to meditate or your body relaxed and still enough?

Rapid Eye to the rescue!

One of the RET tools that can help with meditation is called Eye Patching.

Here's how it works:

  • You simply cover one of your eyes with an eye patch while keeping both eyes open.

  • Leave it on for at least 15 minutes or longer.

  • If you feel more calm and quiet inside, then you have patched the eye that prevents the light from reaching the left brain.

  • When the light goes out, the left brain goes to sleep and the right brain wakes up.

  • That makes it easier to get into a meditative state.

If you feel more anxious or uncomfortable in any way with the patch then switch to the other eye.

When patching makes you feel more calm, you will know you have patched the correct eye.

So leave the patch on that eye until you notice your mind getting quieter and your body more relaxed, then sit for your meditation.

Note:

You can do anything with the patch over an eye, except drive or use a knife.

Patching is also great for de-escalating.

Anytime you feel anxious, worried, or ungrounded, just patch the eye that calms you.

It's a pattern-interrupter and energy management tool, and it really works.

When clients ask me what techniques to use for meditation, I often refer to the Silva Mind Control Method.

It can be life changing, especially when used to manifest or create something new in your life.

I'm also a fan of 'box breathing':

Breathe in to the count of 4.

Hold to the count of 4.

Breathe out to the count of 4.

Hold to the count of 4.

This can be used for general anxiety as well, and helping with meditation.

 A final thought about meditation:

  • It's not something we do.

  • Meditation is a state of being.

  • We don't do meditation, we simply are in a state of meditation.

  • To live, move and have our being in meditation is to be enlightened.

  • That journey begins with just 5 minutes a day.

Good luck!

And Many Blessings! Hope you are still enjoying your summer!

With warmth,

Paula
